NFC (Near Field Communication)

NFC stands for Near Field Communication, which allows your Android and iOS apps to communicate with nearby devices and tags through a simple tap without an internet or Bluetooth connection. Using a JavaScript bridge, your web app can read and write NFC tags and trigger actions instantly.

Tips to Make the Most of NFC

Place Tags Where Users Naturally Click

Put NFC tags at counters, entry points, or eye-level shelves. The easier it is for users to find the tag, the more users will use it.

Keep the Action Instant

NFC works best when the triggered action loads immediately without any loading or additional steps. Ensure the app responds within seconds of a tap.

Pair NFC with an Icon or Label

Always add an icon or a small label near the NFC tag, like 'Click Here.' Most users don't know where to tap unless they see a prompt.

Use NFC for Repetitive Tasks

NFC is ideal for everyday tasks such as viewing the menu or checking inventory. The more repetitive actions, the more time the NFC saves.

Combine NFC With Push Notifications

After a tap, send a follow-up push notification to confirm the action, like a check-in confirmation or a discount unlocked. This makes the app experience feel complete and rewarding.
